(PAD Day 2)

Yeah! Three Day Weekend!
I've been needing a long weekend for a while, I could use the break. Anyone who's worked in the food service industry will understand how grating it can be. And for those who haven't and don't know what I'm talking about, please bare these things in mind next time you go out for food.

1 - That your server is NOT a mind reader.

2 - There is a menu for a reason.

3 - The phrase 'when you've got a minute' is the most irritating and obnoxiously rude thing you could say.

4 - If you have a complaint, pipe up about it and it can be fixed. Rather than wait until you get to the till. (hence point 1)

5 - Don't complain about the total. We list the prices and if you can't do the math yourself, you shouldn't be out on your own. (hence point 2)

Which brings me to my next point, I need a new job. I'm going to be 23 next year, I think that's a bit old to still be in a sterotypical 'summer' job. I never knew what I wanted to be when I grew up and now I'm grown up I still don't know. If I'd had any sense at school I would have studied harder at school and taken subjects like Admin and Business Studies and maybe by now I would have had a cushy job in an office and a deposit for a house. But I didn't I took art and what pot of shit that was!

It's not financially viable for me to go back to college and I feel like by the time I finish college I'll bet too old to get a careeer started because I'll need to start thinking about having kids before I get to old to raise them. My brain hurts sometimes with the amount anxious thoughts running through it.

Sorry for the long and depressive rant.

Anyone have any advice?

OPI And Other Musings

I really liked the Pirates of the Caribbean films, but that was when Keira Knightly was in them. Now I'm not so keen to see the new offering. But if there's nothing better to see at the cinema I will, preferably at showing where there will be as few little kids as possible. Even though I'm sure these films are designed for ages 10 and up, parents see 'Disney' and think their brats will stay in the seats for near on two hours. Not gonna happen, now I understand why my parents didn't take me to the pictures until I was 12.

Let's get back on track.

What I meant to lead on to was the OPI collection that coincides with the film. I would have posted a picture of the whole collection but I couldn't find one. I was pondering whether or not to skip this collection and had decided to. Damn Youtube... made me change my mind. After see these polishes pop up in numerous hauls I thought maybe I could use a little POTC on my nails. And I needed to order some lacquer thinner, two birds one stone. As I type this I'm already starting to regret killing that second bird. But they were just so pretty :)

This is Mermaid's Tear, which I'm really excited about. I don't think I own any colours like this, but at the same time I'm worried it'll be too similar to For Audrey by China Glaze to be justified. Although if you saw my collection you'd agree that no new additon are justifiable, especially since I'm trying to save. ¬_¬

Anyways it'll be at least two weeks before the parcel arrives. Maybe if I use up 20 products before then I can get away with it.

Speaking of using things up, I'm in need of a Project Pan.

I need to go wash for bed.

I should show an update on my skin care since I deleted my old posts.

Sunday Coffee Morning

Hello my Lovelies!

I hope you've all had a great week, have you been up to anything fun?

I had a pretty hum drum week apart from Thursday.

Anna and I met for dinner, but before-hand we went to Boots and were treated like shoplifters. You know when shop assistants think you're going to steal when 3 of them ask 'Hi, can I help you?' (insert snooty voice and a disgusted up and down look) in the space of 2 minutes (and I mean that literally). The first lady who asked meant well, as we were standing next to her counter. The second seemed to be a manager, she swooped in the second we picked up a Dior bottle. Finally the third nosey crow, whom we told several times we were just browsing, kept trying to move us away from the fragrances we were interested to the ones she thought was 'more in our price range'. I'm a grown woman with a job, I can afford to shell out for the new Marc Jacobs Daisy LED, But I'd like to know if I like it first cos it is quite expensive. But no she wanted us to take lady Millionaire (or what ever that crap was). It came in an ugly gold bottle and actually smelled like mold spores. The service in Boots sucks, and if it wasn't for all the benefits I get from the rewards scheme i would take my business elsewhere.

I'm gonna stop ranting I feel the rage resurfacing.

But the rest of the evening was lovely. We went to Pizza Express and I had a pizza called Il Padrino (I think). It was so pretty and delicious. Then we had cheese cake for dessert, and I swear they serve the best cheese cake in Aberdeen. And we took advantage of the free hot drink with your desert, Anna had hot chocolate which was huge, and I had a latte which was so nice, way better than Starbucks any day.

I also dyed my hair yesterday. The colour is called Black Cherry, I'll post a picture later. It looks like the kind of colour that might fade to a pretty raspberry colour :).

Anyways, I'm away to get ready to go into town and get packaging supplies, I've been meaning to all week and just haven't had time.

I'll probably do a few posts later on, I need to do an update on my diet plan (which is going well btw).

'Til then.

Update

Hello my Lovelies,
Sorry for being MIA. I've been distracted with trying to get my etsy store stocked. I'm so excited! I can't wait for the supplies to get here so I can start taking the thoughts in my head and making them reality.
I'm also in the middle of weird shift patterns, which will be back to normal by the end of this week. After I've work 10 days straight, that is. So I'm really loking forward to the coming weekend. I have a huge Amazon order to pile drive through, I have magazine reading to catch up on and I have a stack of filming and posts to make. Will 48hrs be long enough?
I'm loving this mini heat wave that we've got going on in Aberdeen. It was 17C today. I've already broke out all my summer dresses and discovered some of them don't fit, so i've finaly kicked my butt on that diet I was talking about. Now I have loads of yummy fruit filling my tummy.
So until Saturday!

Holiday Over!

This last week I’ve been on holiday from work. It’s the last holiday I’ll get until the next tax year, the only additional time off I’ll get is for a trip to the GP for my BP.
I put in for a repeat prescription for my pill and when I get there they only give me a month’s supply and tell me I’m over due for a yearly blood pressure check. Apparently that’s a possible side effect from my brand of contraceptive, I also want to question the GP about DVT or Deep Vein Thrombosis. I don’t know much about it and I’m scared to research it. But what I do know is it cause blood clots in your legs, usually people on long haul flights suffer from it. sometimes these blood clots get loose in the body and travel and they sometimes burst. And if this happens in your brain or you heart, you will die. Did I mention that certain brand of contraceptive pill can make you four times more susceptible to DVT. I know if I do any research myself I’ll end up in some paranoid coma, so I’m going to talk the doctor about it and hopefully I’m not at risk.
On to less depressing things.
I had quite a relaxing holiday, I lazed around and did very little. I had planned to do a lot, but to be honest I couldn’t be arsed. I had planned to film a lot for Youtube, and do a bunch of work for the blog, all of which I could get done in my evenings if I were more organised. So I figured if I get all the lazy vibes out of my system I will be more productive.
But to get the ball rolling, what do you what to see?

Video Set Up Hell

Hello my Lovelies.
Today I tried to pre-film some videos for my new channel and it didn't go very well.
Before Christmas my brother, Brian, had moved out. He'd broken up with his long term girlfriend. She moved back to Leicester and he had gone for a job in Huntly. He started seeing someone out there and moved in with her.
We thought since he was gone we could put all the junk from the living room in his room so we could put up the decorations. Next thing I know he's broken up with this new girl and is back home by Boxing Day. Now he's living in the living room until his room is back to normal.
Enough of Brian's 'Jeremy Kyle' Special.
So with Brian in the Living room and Nick in my room, the only available place to film is the bathroom. I used to film in there before, but the new bath has a thinner edge so I can't fit my camera on there anymore. The only other place I can put the camera is on a ledge above the sink. It's a perfect set up for talking videos, but it's too far away for tutorials. Even if I use the zoom it doesn't help, as it makes the picture pixelate and it cuts my head out of frame and that's no use. I've tried otther ways of placing the camera, but they're either too far away, too low or too akward an angle.
I know it sounds lame, but it's really frustrating. I was given a week and a half holidays, I had nothing planned so I figured I could bulk film all the videos I've been meaning to do but had no time to.
Hopefully Nick will be going away with his friend Lee for a while and I'll be able to get work done.
Fingers crossed.
Sorry for the rant lol.
